Australian boxing sensation Tim Tszyu has credited his partner Alexandra Constantine for keeping him motivated.
Ahead of his blockbuster bout in Sydney on Wednesday against New Zealand boxer Bowyn Morgan, Tszyu said his partner of almost four years is a huge support.
“She’s with me non stop. She’s that person who always pushes you,’’ Tszyu said.
“There are some times where it is hard and she motivates me to push through it. She’s a very goal driven person like me.”
Tszyu, the son of boxing superstar Kostya Tszyu, added: “Alex does everything. She runs the house, plus she’s got a full time job so she doesn’t have an hour spare.
“She doesn’t have a clue about any of the boxing stuff but it’s more to do with life. There’s more to life than just boxing and I’m lucky to have her.”
Tszyu said he was pleased with his preparation and progress following his big win over Jeff Horn, but he has more to achieve.
“I’m happy with what I’ve done but I’m not satisfied yet,’’ he said.
“I’ve still got a long way to go, the hardest part hasn’t even started. It’s only going to get harder so I’ve got to prepare myself well.
“(In the ring) I’ve got this switch where I get into the zone and it’s hard to describe but there’s no external factors that come into my mind, it’s just one given task.
“My mind isn’t racing about anything, just focusing on this guy who’s trying to take everything away from me.”
