ALEX Nation says she’s finally reconnecting with herself two years after winning The Bachelor.
The Melbourne mum says she’s in a better place than ever as she prepares to begin a new breakfast radio show.
“I’m happy doing my own thing,’’ Nation told Confidential.
IS MELISSA GEORGE RETURNING TO SUMMER BAY?
“I’m really happy and felt like I just needed to reconnect with myself. The Bachelor was life changing and I’m still adjusting post the show because it is such a unique experience.
“It’s taken me two years to be able to reconnect and I’m in a better place than I ever have been. Just minimalising stress and drama.”
After separating from her TV beau Richie Strahan, Nation became engaged last December to her AFL women’s football teammate Maegan Luxa. They split a few months ago.
Nation, who has a seven year-old son Elijah, will return to radio with her colleagues Luke Forrest and Jay Bruno on Casey Radio starting July 25.
“The last time we did radio I was holding back and was a bit cautious, but I’ll be open and I don’t feel as restricted,’’ Nation said.
“We’re on air every Wednesday morning and we’ve got Jo Hall doing a funny news segment, Collingwood’s Steele Sidebottom doing a regular segment and Tim Campbell on as well.
“We’d love to get into commercial radio and we are giving it a red hot crack.”
Nation said she hopes to return to footy with the Frankston Bombers.
“I played a few games but I wasn’t ready because of my shoulder injury,’’ she said.
“I’ll definitely play a whole season next season. I still love my footy.”
