Footy star Jack Watts says he’s taken “great learnings” from a string of shocking off-season incidents and has vowed to “grow” from the experience.

The Port Adelaide forward, in Melbourne launching a new range of swimwear from his label Skwosh, is also recovering from a broken leg.

“My family and friends have been a great support since (the injury) happened and I’m lucky to have these people around me at all times,” Watts told Confidential.

Watts also made headlines earlier this year after being involved in a texting scandal and then caught on video snorting a white sugar, mint and glucose powder off a young woman’s breast at the popular German event, Oktoberfest.

Asked how those events had changed him, Watts said: “I think with any obstacle in life you can take great learnings from it.

“I’ve certainly done that over my 28 years so far and I’m sure I’ll continue to do that for my remaining years. It’s important to appreciate the good times and to grow as a person when things are difficult.”

Watts said his absence from the game has “reignited a bit of passion in me.”

He added: “You definitely don’t appreciate what you have until it gets taken away from you so I can’t wait to be back out their with the team doing what I love most.”

Meanwhile, Watts, snapped at the launch event with former MAFS ‘bride’ Martha Kalifatidis, said the new Skwosh range is “quirky, light-hearted ... and perfect for any Aussie looking to escape the Melbourne winter.
