Port Adelaide forward Jack Watts has spoken for the first time since video surfaced off him sniffing a white powder from a woman’s breasts in plain sight in a packed room at a German beer festival.

The video is believed to have been taken at Oktoberfest in Munich last October.

Watts’ manager of Port Adelaide forward Jack Watts says a white powder he can be seen sniffing in a video of him simulating taking drugs “is not cocaine’’ but a legal substance widely used at Oktoberfest in Germany.

Speaking to Channel 9 outside Port Adelaide headquarters this morning, Watts expressed remorse and said the video was a “shocking look”.

“You’ve probably seen it. It’s a pretty shocking look and I’m really disappointed with myself and can imagine having my parents and my sisters watching a video like that, it’s not a great feeling,” Watts said.

“The pain and burden I’ve caused for the club and the supporters and my teammates and coaches, that’s probably what hurts me the most.”

However, Watts’ manager Paul Connors, from Connor Sports Management, said the substance was a harmless “peppermint” mix known as Wiesn Koks, Oktoberfest cocaine or Wiesn Pulver.

The product, legal and widely sold in small containers, is drug free and made up of menthol, sugar and glucose.

“It’s not cocaine,” Connors told the Herald Sun.

“It’s clearly a legal tobacco based powder used widely at Oktoberfest.”

The video shows Watts, dressed in a red and white checkered shirt traditional to the Oktoberfest festival, snorting the substance from the woman’s breast, while shouting “yes, yes … alright are we ready, are we ready?”

The woman, whose identity is unknown to the Herald Sun, pulls down her Oktoberfest dress for the Port Adelaide forward in the video.

Another man points his finger and says “whatever Jack doesn’t do”.

Watts snorts the substance for a few seconds and then appears to stop.

Port Adelaide released a statement this afternoon which also included Watts’ claim that the powder in the video was Wiesn Pulver and not an illicit drug.

“Port Adelaide is aware of a video on social media platforms involving Jack Watts. The club has spoken to Watts about the content within the video,” the statement read.

“Watts has informed the club that the video was taken at Oktoberfest in Munich last October and the substance featured is ‘Wiesn Pulver’, a legal substance made up of menthol, sugar and glucose.

“The AFL is aware of the matter. Based on the information at hand the club will not be making any further comment at this stage.”

Watts, 27, joined the Power from Melbourne last year, kicking 18 goals from 19 AFL games.

The 2008 No. 1 draft pick has played 172 AFL games since debuting in 2009.
