Abbey Holmes has welcomed her first baby, sharing adorable snaps of the “suuuuuuuuuper cute” bub on social media.
The footy commentator and husband Keegan Brooksby revealed in January they were expecting the bundle of joy.
“Hi Everybody! My name is Braxton John Brooksby but my friends can call my Brax,” the Instagram post said.
“Mummy laboured all day on Friday, only for me to be born via c section at 5.49pm on 6/6 weighing 3.585kgs. My head was faaar too large so we had to change our plans late in the piece!
“Im suuuuuuuuuper cute & Mum and Dad are obsessed with me!”
Holmes, 34, signed off from Channel 7 at the end of May in an emotional farewell as she prepared to tackle motherhood.
Holmes, who played AFLW for Adelaide and was a member of the inaugural season and premiership, said she wasn’t planning to take much maternity leave, hoping to be back on television “as quickly as I can”.
The announcement of little Braxton’s arrival has been met with well wishes from among the footy and media communities.
Annalise Dalins, fiance of Collingwood star Josh Daicos, wrote: “Adorable. Congratulations sweetheart. xx Sending you and your beautiful family lots of love xx.”
Brendan Fevola wrote: “Congrats.”
Kellie Finlayson, wife of Port Adelaide’s Jeremy Finlayson, also sent her congratulations.
“Oh beautiful boy!! Welcome to the world darling, congrats mum,” she wrote.
