Abbey Holmes and Keegan Brooksby have sealed their love in a stunning wedding in the Northern Territory.
The Channel 7 footy commentator and her footy player/coach partner exchanged vows in a picturesque location on Cup Eve which the couple described as magical.
“The perfect day with the most perfect person,” Holmes captioned a picture of the wedding.
Holmes wore two dresses on the day, by Oglia-Loro Couture and styled by Lana Wilkinson.
The couple’s wedding song was an acoustic version of Sam Smith’s Latch.
Holmes said the Northern Territory holds a special spot in her heart.
“It’s a place that was a massive part of my journey to where I am today and a place that means a lot to us,” Holmes said.
“So many of our guests haven’t been to that part of the world so it’s pretty special to be able to get back there and share with them why we love it so much.
“My sister’s kids grew up in East Arnhem land. I’m such an emotional person so I’ll be a blubbering mess no doubt,” she said in the interview ahead of the wedding.
Holmes and Brooksby married before 100 guests including her Channel 7 colleagues Brian Taylor and Luke Hodge, some of her friends from when she competed on Survivor Australia including Lydia Lassila flying in from Finland, plus premiership Magpie Mason Cox.
They each had one person beside them: Holmes’s sister and Brooksby’s school friend.
The busy couple enlisted a wedding planner to ensure it was the most special day.
“We’ve actually pulled it together quite quickly after we had our engagement party on December 30 last year with no plans of when we were getting married,” Holmes said.
“It was only a week or so after that we kind of looked at each other and said if we don’t plan something it’ll never happen.
“If it was up to Keegan and I it would never have got done. We would have been screwed without (our planner). We’re working with some great people and when it is a destination wedding it is a bit harder. It’s going to be pretty magical.”
Holmes and Brooksby, who is currently head of AFLW development and the Academy at Hawthorn, and was formerly listed by the Eagles, Suns and Hawks, met at the end of 2017 on dating app Bumble.
They will head on a six week honeymoon overseas in December.
