‘Fat pigs’: Kyle Sandilands unleashes on listener advisory boards

Kyle Sandilands has lashed out at the radio industry, saying some stations are taking advice from “fat pigs” and “losers” who show up just for free pizza.

Crass Kyle Sandilands has lashed out at the radio industry describing stations that use feedback from Listener Advisory Board polling as taking advice from “fat pigs”, “toads” and “losers.”

Sandilands was quick to say his KIIS breakfast show refuses to engage with listener advisory boards, but that the rest of the KIIS schedule was influenced by the feedback from the small focus groups of listeners.

“I hate listener advisory boards. Does anyone understand what a listener advisory board is?,” he said on his KIIS show last week.

“It is this dumb thing radio do. They get all these fat pigs to come in here for free, they lure them in with free pizza and diet Fanta, all these toads show up with nothing better to do with their life, and then we ask them questions — ‘do you like this song?’ — and they play them a bit of a song.

“Then some big pig who has already eaten a bit of pizza goes ‘I don’t like it’, then someone else goes ‘I don’t like it either.’

“They write down all their answers and they create the radio station around what all these big toads think. I have always said ‘listen, you are gearing the radio station towards losers, losers who come in for a free slice of pizza and diet Fanta’.”

These “fat pigs”, “toads” and “losers” are radio listeners — possibly even Kyle & Jackie O listeners.
