Samantha Markle fires legal shot at Prince Harry, Meghan Markle

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to testify in the defamation case Samantha Markle is bringing against the Duchess of Sussex for exposing her to “humiliation and hatred”.

Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to testify in the defamation case the Duchess’ sister is bringing down against her, a report said.

Samantha Markle filed paperwork last Friday demanding the ex-royals take the stand in her quest to prove Meghan Markle had made “false and malicious statements” during the couple’s March 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, according to a report in the New York Post.

Samantha Markle wants the duo to be deposed on the same day, but in separate on-camera interviews.

Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have publicly detailed their own family estrangements.

Samantha Markle wants her half-sister to make 38 separate admissions during her deposition, the Mirror reported.

Samantha Markle not only wants Meghan Markle to admit that she lied about their relationship and upbringing in order to sell a “rags-to-royalty” story, but wants her half-sister to take back allegations she made against the royal family by claiming “Queen Elizabeth was not a racist” and “King Charles is not a racist”.

In the documents, Samantha Markle, who has the same father as the Duchess of Sussex, accused her of withholding evidence and stonewalling discovery.

Thomas Markle — the women’s father — is expected to testify, in addition to former royal aide Jason Knauf, Samantha Markle’s daughter Ashleigh Hale and online security expert Christopher Bouzy.

The sisters have been at odds for years before the famous 2021 Winfrey interview — Meghan Markle has repeatedly accused her half-sister and father of selling stories to the British tabloids.

Samantha Markle filed the A$108,000 lawsuit after Meghan Markle told Winfrey that she grew up as an only child and allegedly lied about the last time the sisters saw one another. The lies subjected Samantha Markle to “humiliation and hatred”, she argued.

She has continued to fire shots at her half-sister and brother-in-law as the couple continues to publicly speak about their own familial issues. Last month, she accused Prince Harry of being “emotionally underdeveloped”.

A mediator has been appointed in an attempt to avoid a trial, the documents show, but Meghan Markle is trying to get the “meritless” case tossed out.

Her lawyers argued the complaint “has no place in this court or any other” because they feel it is asking jurors to split hairs on the meaning of a “close” relationship.

“She is asking the court to decide whether she and Meghan “had ever ‘been close,’ how many times the two ‘crossed paths’ as adults and whether Meghan’s feelings that she ‘grew up as an only child’ are ‘true’ or false,’” the Duchess of Sussex’s lawyers said.
