Prince Harry has named the royal who he felt was the most “dangerous” in yet another bombshell interview.

The 38-year-old Duke of Sussex sat down with Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes to promote his memoir Spare, which has already been leaked ahead of its January 10 release.

In the interview, which aired in the US on Monday, Cooper addresses an excerpt in the book where Harry described Queen consort Camilla as “dangerous”, writing that he made an effort to keep her happy to avoid conflict.

The veteran US broadcaster then asked Harry to elaborate on why he thought King Charles’ wife was a threat.

“Because of the need for her to rehabilitate her image...” Harry told Cooper.

“On her way to being Queen consort, there would be bodies left on the street because of that.”

In the book, which was leaked in Spain on Friday, Harry paints an unflattering picture of Camilla, 75, whom Charles, now 74, married in 2005.

Harry suggests that Camilla threw him under the bus to climb the ranks in the royal family and in the public eye, writing that his stepmother “sacrificed me on her personal PR altar” through leaks about him in the press.

Speaking to Cooper, Harry said Camilla was desperate to overhaul her reputation because “she was the villain. She was the third person in their marriage.”

Camilla and Charles were known to have had an affair during Charles’ marriage to Princess Diana, who famously said in an interview, “There were three of us in the marriage, so it was a little crowded.”

Cooper said when 60 Minutes reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment following Harry’s filmed interview, the palace press team “demanded” the program provide them with the full report.

“Which is something we never do,” Cooper said. The palace ultimately declined to comment.

Elsewhere in the chat, Harry also fiercely defended his wife Meghan Markle, revealing he’s spoken out against the royal family to “squash the idea that my wife is the one who destroyed this relationship between two brothers”.

Kicking off the interview, the veteran Cooper told Harry he thought the book was “cutting” in parts, particularly stories about his older brother, Prince William.

“I don’t see it as cutting at all. My brother and I love each other … I love him deeply,” Harry argued.

He added, “[But] there’s been a lot of pain between the two of us, especially the last six years. None of anything I’ve written and included is ever intended to hurt my family.

“But it does give a full picture of the situation. And also squash this idea that somehow my wife was the one who destroyed this relationship between two brothers.”

For Australian viewers, the interview will air Monday night on Channel 10’s The Project.

It comes after Harry’s interview with ITV’s Tom Bradby aired in the UK just hours earlier.

Bradby and Harry, who have known each other for 20 years, went toe-to-toe in the surprisingly intense 90-minute sit down, in what became the first time the Duke had been throughly questioned about his public allegations against the royal family.

Harry argued that his airing of the monarchy’s dirty laundry wasn’t done to “intentionally harm anyone in my family.”

However, Bradby was quick to push back with a reference to Harry’s claim that William was once physically violent with him: “But the portrait of your brother in the book is harmful to him.”

The journalist also suggested what William’s defence may be to some of Harry’s accusations, prompting a frustrated Harry to hit back that it was merely “a list of assumptions you’re making”.

Despite all his criticism, Harry claimed that he was still open to reconciliation with his family, although he doesn’t believe Charles or William will read his book.

“I really hope they do,” he said.
