Cassandra Thorburn reportedly had ‘no inkling’ of her and Stefanovic’s marriage breakdown

THEIR 21-year marriage ended in October last year and, according to sources, Stefanovic’s wife was just as blindsided as everyone else.

KARL Stefanovic and Cassandra Thorburn’s marriage came to an abrupt end in October last year with sources now alleging no-one was more blindsided than Thorburn herself.

According to Fairfax’s Private Sydney, sources close to the family revealed she returned home from shopping one day to find Stefanovic had packed his bags.

“She was completely devastated and had no inkling that something was happening. Cass was blindsided,” the source said.

“It took her days to even tell the rest of her family because she had no idea what was going on or why it was happening,” they added.

Thorburn’s reported shock at their separation after 21 years of marriage comes after Stefanovic recently opened up to The Herald Sun about his private life since the split, and the toll it has taken on his family.

“For me personally I would definitely have failures in a husband sense and hope that I can rectify my failures as a dad,” Karl told the publication.

“I hope I can try and rebuild whatever has happened in the past and try and make the most of what I can do with them in the future.”

When the couple announced their split they also immediately put their North Sydney property on the market while Stefanovic moved out to stay at his close friend James Packer’s Bondi apartment.

After less than two weeks on the market, the family home sold for $3.8 million.

The couple had lived in the Lindfield home since 2010 with their three children Jackson, 17, Ava, 11, and River, 10.

Stefanovic has since began dating 33-year-old model and shoe designer Jasmine Yarbrough.

Their relationship became public knowledge in February when they were photographed lying on the deck of a luxury yacht in Sydney Harbour, sipping champagne and kissing.
