Karl Stefanovic’s brand new life after marriage breakdown

THERE’S no doubt last year brought some significant lows for Karl Stefanovic, largely due to the breakdown of his 21-year marriage to Cassandra Thorburn.

But the Karl who’s emerged since news broke of the split last September seems like a brand new guy: he’s overhauling his fitness, dating a young model and partying on yachts.

This week, he was spotted grabbing a bite to eat and having a laugh with his rumoured girlfriend, 33-year-old Jasmine Yarbrough.

The pair was photographed buying some McDonalds before they returned to the luxurious QT Hotel in Bondi.

Karl was spotted wearing a pair of black Birkenstocks, which seem to be the TV host’s favourite form of footwear.

Yarbrough, who is a 33-year-old shoe designer known globally for her fashion brand Mara & Mine wore a bright floral skirt and white wrap around top with a pair of her shoes.

The luxury slip-on shoes have become must-have footwear for stars including Kendall Jenner and Margot Robbie.

Despite the Maccas, it’s clear the father-of-three has spent the past few months investing in his fitness as part of the ‘Karl 2.0’ package.

He’s been regularly spotted working out with a personal trainer, playing tennis and going for jogs with pals.

He’s always been a social figure, but it appears Karl is embracing his new life as a bachelor.

Before he went public with Yarbrough, he was reportedly spending time with fellow bachelor and best mate James Packer - during the height of public scrutiny about Stefanovic’s split, billionaire Packer was reportedly even loaning him his helicopter to help him avoid paparazzi.

Then there were the photos splashed across the papers last month featuring Karl lying on the deck of a luxury yacht alongside his beautiful blonde model girlfriend, with a glass of champagne in hand.

Stefanovic split from his wife Cassandra Thorburn back in October after 21 years of marriage, reportedly in part due to the toll The Today Show took on their family.

The latest photos of Karl and his girlfriend come a little over a week since sources told Fairfax his family found out about the new relationship when they saw paparazzi pictures of the two kissing on a super yacht in Sydney.

“At no point before it was released in the media did Karl tell [his wife] Cassandra or the children he was in a relationship and that he wanted his girlfriend to meet them,” the source said on February 21.

For his part, Karl has remained pretty tight-lipped about his private life since the split, but recently opened up to the Herald Sun about the toll it’s taken on his family.

“For me personally I would definitely have failures in a husband sense and hope that I can rectify my failures as a dad,” Karl told the publication.

“I hope I can try and rebuild whatever has happened in the past and try and make the most of what I can do with them in the future.”

Stefanovic and Thorburn have three kids together: Jackson, 16, Ava, 11, and River, 10.
