Uncanny X-Men rocker Brian Mannix has sustained a nasty injury during a party aboard Sam Newman’s yacht.
The Herald Sun reports former The Footy Show star Newman hosted friends including Mannix, sports agent Ricky Nixon, AFL legend Warwick Capper and aerobics champ Sue Stanley for a get-together on the yacht – which then encountered turbulent weather.
Mannix banged his nose on the step of the 66-foot yacht, appropriately named Angst.
But he insisted the injury wasn’t a result of too much partying on the high seas.
“It got really rocky but I wasn’t drunk, I just want to clear that up,’’ Mannix told the Sun.
“The doctors say it’s not broken, just an impact injury. It was a great day and I just came away a bit banged up.”
Newman described the conditions in Melbourne’s Port Philip Bay, where the boat was anchored near Beaumauris, as “absolutely feral … a very hazardous experience.”
Mannix, 60, is best known as the frontman of Australian rock band Uncanny X-Men, who released two top 20 albums and enjoyed a string of hit singles in the mid-80s. He’s also appeared as an actor in shows like Neighbours, Blue Heelers and Last Man Standing.
