Taron Egerton rocked a shaved head and impressive rig as he was photographed sitting by his trailer on the set of his upcoming movie Netflix thriller, Apex.

The Welsh actor – who has starred in acclaimed films such as Rocketman, which won him a Best Actor Golden Globe in 2020 – wore navy blue board shorts and sat shirtless as he soaked up the Aussie sun.

The 35-year-old first touched down in Sydney on January 28 with co-star Charlize Theron ahead filming the Netflix blockbuster.

In the movie filmed in the rugged Blue Mountains in NSW, Theron plays a grieving woman seeking solace in the wilderness, only to find herself caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse with a serial killer.

The film, directed by Baltasar Kormákur, also stars beloved Aussie actor Eric Bana.

Egerton is fast becoming a major star for Netflix. Just recently, he played the lead role in the action thriller Carry On, which was a smashing success for the streamer.

The film follows a TSA agent (Egerton) who is being blackmailed by a mysterious passenger (played by Jason Bateman) to allow a bag containing a deadly nerve agent on board a flight.

The film topped Netflix’s Top 10 List for a full three weeks during the Christmas period.

From the 10 days since it premiered on December 13, Carry On had already recorded 97.1 million views worldwide.

With these numbers, Egerton’s film is already on track to join Netflix’s All-time Top 10 English-language original movies.

The current 10th-place movie on that list is the 2022 film Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery with 136.3 million views.

In comparison, Carry-On is already more than 70 per cent of the way to nudge the Daniel Craig film out of the top 10.

To date, Netflix’s top-performing original movie is the 2021 action comedy Red Notice, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot, with 230.9 million views over 91 days.
