Music stars, politicians and Donald Trump fans have let their hair down at the three glitzy, post-inauguration celebrations in Washington DC.

At the centre of the action at the black tie Commander-in-Chief Ball was, of course, the new President himself, who led his wife Melania out for the first dance. The First Lady was typically chic in her floor-length, custom crepe Herve Pierre gown.

The designer also worked with Mrs Trump on her 2017 inauguration gowns, and gushed over the “big honour” it was to once again be called upon for the momentous occasion.

Country music band Rascal Flatts and singers Kid Rock and Parker McCollum took the stage to entertain the crowd at the event, which was in honour of Americans serving in the military.

Meanwhile, over at the Liberty Inaugural Ball, rapper Nelly, country stars Jason Aldean and Billy Ray Cyrus and the Village People were the night’s entertainment.

Cyrus appeared to be plagued by tech issues during his “trainwreck” performance, which hit when he was mid-way through his 2018 hit Old Town Road.

The father of Miley Cyrus was slammed by viewers for not only appearing to lip sync, but also for his unkempt appearance.

Prior to the Liberty Ball, Aldean revealed that he was a longtime supporter of Mr Trump’s, and had reached out personally to offer his music services.

“I’ve known President Trump for a few years, and you know, had a chance to spend a couple of New Years with him, play golf, and different things, and obviously been a big supporter of his over the last few years, and so, when he got elected, I just called and said, ‘I don’t know what this looks like, but I would just love to be there in some capacity,’” he told CBS Mornings.

The final event of the inauguration day celebrations was the Starlight Ball, where singer Gavin DeGraw was the main attraction.

Famous boxers Jake Paul and Mike Tyson were among the guests in attendance, and appeared to be having a whale of a time.

Paul posted a video on social media of himself piggybacking Tyson, both in gales of laughter.

One of the few showbiz stars in attendance was actor Jon Voight, who was recently named by Mr Trump as one of his “Special Ambassadors to Hollywood”.
