Meghan Markle is facing some backlash after launching a new online storefront that allows fans to purchase some of her favourite clothing items while she earns a commission.
The Duchess of Sussex shared a post on her Instagram Stories on Monday with a link to her “ShopMy Closet” page.
Featured on the page are an array of expensive items, including a $1,415 beige cashmere crew neck from designer Loro Piana and an ivory silk maxi dress by Heidi Merrick listed for $1,350.
The ShopMy platform is marketed at “elite creators” as a way for them to earn revenue if someone purchases an item through a link they have shared - with commission as high as 30 per cent.

“Many of you asked, so here you go!” she wrote in the caption. “A little shopping to start the week. More to come.”
Meghan has listed the store under the name “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex”, and fans have been left fuming as a result.
“Do people need another celebrity selling them things they don’t need at this moment in our country’s financial status? I wish her well!” complained one user on X.
A second commented: “I can’t believe she is allowed to get away with monetising the monarchy.”
While another called Meghan’s move into becoming a full-time influencer “shocking”, adding: “Meghan joining ShopMy is shocking. I thought she would at least wait until after As Ever launched before we started seeing affiliate links. My guess is she saw that others were making $ from items on the show and wanted a cut, but she has truly reached full influencer status.”
Meghan’s latest venture comes after a handful of pieces she wore in her new show Love, Meghan, sold out online.

Meanwhile, over the weekend, UK newspapers suggested that Netflix had approached Meghan and Harry about filming a new documentary about Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana to mark the 30th anniversary of her death.
The proposed documentary would form part of a new long-term deal with the Sussexes.
It would have marked the second deal the streaming giant had made with the couple after their original five-year, $100 million partnership.
When the news broke, fans had rushed to social media to lash out at the reports, with many calling the alleged project out for being in “poor taste”.
However, a source close to the pair has since told The Independent that the reports are simply “not true”.
