Queen Mary and King Frederik of Denmark have celebrated the high school graduation of their eldest child, Prince Christian.
The royal pair looked loved up as they posed with their four children, with the normally reserved King Frederik spotted wrapping his arm around his Tasmanian-born wife.
The 18-year-old Prince Christian, who will one day be king, appeared in high spirits with his proud parents and siblings outside Ordrup Gymnasium in Gentofte.
Prince Vincent, Princess Josephine and Princess Isabella were there to cheer their brother on as he marked his personal milestone.
Tasmanian-born Queen Mary was the picture of summer chic in a crisp white linen shirt and a coloured pattern skirt.
She looked on lovingly as her eldest son smiled for the cameras.
King Frederik was also dressed in casual attire with a white shirt, tan chinos and black blazer.
The Prince wore a jaunty hat known as a studenterhue, which is a traditional cap worn by Danish graduates on the last day of school.
It is likely that the royal will now attend university in September and complete his military training, following in his father’s footsteps.
The show of affection between Queen Mary and King Frederik, who recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary, comes six months into their reign.
The couple’s marriage came under the spotlight in late 2023 after photos were published in Spanish magazine Lecturas of King Frederik’s night out in Madrid with glamorous Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova.
Following the publication of the photos, Ms Casanova issued a furious denial of suggestions that there was any romantic relationship between herself and the monarch.
Shortly afterwards, Queen Margrethe stunned the world when she abdicated, paving the way for her son and Australian-born daughter-in-law to take the throne.
