King Charles has shared a heartfelt video on his social media channels one year on from his cancer diagnosis.
The video honoured World Cancer Day and featured a number of UK celebrities who have been touched by cancer in some way, including radio presenter Adele Roberts, who suffered from bowel cancer, cyclist Sir Chris Hoy, who is suffering from terminal cancer, and dancer Amy Dowden.
It also featured former professional boxer Johnny Nelson, former diver Tom Daley, whose father passed away from cancer in 2011, journalist Victoria Derbyshire, presenter and author Fearne Cotton, and author Gok Wan.
The celebrities shared messages of love and support to all those going through their own cancer journeys or who know those who are.
“We’re all in this together, you’re not alone,” Sir Hoy said. “Keep living life every single day, and keep smiling, and don’t forget to enjoy the here and now.”
“This World Cancer Day, we are sending love to all those navigating a cancer diagnosis – as well as the incredible doctors, nurses, charities and families who work tirelessly to support them,” the caption on the monarch’s post read, along with information on where to get help.
The King was diagnosed with a form of cancer in February last year and began regular treatments.
He stepped back from public facing duties for a number of months following the revelation of the cancer diagnosis, making his first public appearance in April last year with a visit to a UK cancer hospital
The Palace has said the Royal’s health is “moving in a positive direction”.
