‘Duchess anytime’: Jeffrey Epstein’s emails reveal Sarah Ferguson links

Sex predator Jeffrey Epstein had close ties with members of at least two royal families while under house arrest, it has emerged.

Disgraced paedophile Jeffrey Epstein maintained close ties with members of at least two royal families in the years following his 2008 conviction for soliciting an underage girl, it has been reported.

The late predator scheduled meetings with Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson as well as Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, according to The Daily Beast.

The publication obtained emails from authorities in the US Virgin Islands via a Freedom of Information Act request.

The paedophile’s private messages from March 2010 revealed that he made room in his schedule for the Duchess of York.

“The Duchess for Tues or Wed (I have emailed her assistant, Amanda, RE a meeting),” Epstein’s longtime executive assistant Lesley Groff wrote to him in March 2010.

Epstein replied: “Duchess anytime.”

Sarah Ferguson later apologised for her relationship with Epstein, telling the Evening Standard, “I deeply regret Jeffrey Epstein became involved in any way with me. I abhor paedophilia and any sexual abuse of children and know that this was a gigantic error of judgment on my behalf.”

Epstein also had ties with the Norwegian royal family, The Daily Beast reported.

In a September 21, 2013 message to Epstein from Ms Groff, she referred to the Manhattan visit of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, The Daily Beast said.

“Reminder: Princess Mette to arrive today and stay until Thurs, Sept 26,” Ms Groff’s email said, referring to Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit. “7:00pm Mette???” the email said, just after a note regarding a 6pm meeting with former Norwegian prime minister Thorbjorn Jagland.

Guri Varpe, a spokeswoman for the Norwegian Royal Court, told The Daily Beast that Crown Princess Mette-Marit was visiting New York City on a work trip between September 21 and September 26 in 2013.

The royal stayed at a hotel in Midtown Manhattan, not with Epstein, Ms Varpe told the publication and had never been” to the US Virgin Islands, where Epstein owned two islands and allegedly carried out some of his most horrific sex trafficking crimes.

Mette-Marit apologised for her interactions with Epstein in 2019 and broke off all contact with the predator in 2013, Ms Varpe said.
