The daughter of Michael Jackson has revealed she once battled heroin and alcohol addiction while sharing video of herself at the height of her addiction.

Paris Jackson has candidly revealed she battled a heroin and alcohol addiction but is now clean and sober.

To mark five years of sobriety, the 26-year-old singer shared a video montage on Instagram showing some raw home videos of herself at the height of her addiction before she turned her life around.

“hi, i’m pk and i’m an alcoholic and a heroin addict,” Paris, who is the daughter of legendary musician Michael Jackson, began in the accompanying caption.

“today marks 5 years clean & sober from all drugs and alcohol. to say that i’m thankful would be a poor euphemism. gratitude hardly scratches the surface.”

As well as footage of herself partying and drinking, the clip also features numerous sobriety coins that marked her journey and helped her regain control of her life.

“it’s because i’m sober that i get to smile today. i get to make music. i get to experience the joy of loving my dogs and cat. i get to feel heartbreak in all it’s glory. i get to grieve. i get to laugh. i get to dance. i get to trust. i feel the sun on my skin and it’s warm,” she continued.

The star said she hated her life in one video.

Numerous video showed Paris downing alcohol by the bottle.

Towards the end of the video, Paris appears happier, healthier, more present as she enjoys road trips with her dog, rock climbing and cave exploring with her fiancé Justin “Blue” Long, and wholesome nights in doing facials with friends.

“i’ve found that life keeps happening regardless of whether i’m sober or not, but today i get to show up for it,” she concluded.

“Here’s a little snapshot of what has been possible because of my sobriety, and my god i can’t believe i almost missed it all.”

When the video comes to an end, a final message of thanks flashes across the screen.

“For those that helped me on this journey, if only just the beginning, middle, or the whole time so far, you know who you are and I owe you my life, thank you,” she wrote. “5 years, Thank God.”

Just weeks before her latest sobriety milestone, Paris had another reason to celebrate when Justin – her producer and bandmate – proposed after three years of dating.

Paris casually shared the engagement news on December 6 when posting a carousel of photos featuring Justin for his birthday tribute. Included in the photo roundup was a pic of him on bended knee.

“Happy birthday my sweet blue,” she wrote alongside the happy snaps. “Doing life with you these last years has been an indescribable whirlwind and i couldn’t dream of anyone more perfect for me to do it all with.”

She continued, “Thank you for letting me be yours. I love you.”
