Carrie Bickmore has shared a heartbreaking picture of herself red-faced and crying, admitting it had been taken on a “terrible day”.

The radio host and TV presenter, 44, is seen looking at the camera, with her hand covering her mouth, in the image, which she said she had sent to a friend recently.

“Scrolling through my camera roll this morning I found this photo I’d sent a friend a few months ago when I was having a terrible day and she had checked up on me,” Bickmore wrote.

“I don’t often post on the days I feel c**p (and there are a lot of them) because I usually go quiet. But I thought it was worth sharing.

“We all have sad days/weeks/months for so many varied reasons, and if you are having a s*** one, I hope tomorrow is a brighter day. You are not alone.”

Bickmore did not elaborate on the cause of her distress.

It’s undoubtedly been a challenging few years for the Hit Network’s Carrie & Tommy co-host, who announced in 2022 that she had split from her partner of 11 years, Chris Walker, with whom she has two children: Evie and Adelaide.

Bickmore also has a 17-year-old son, Oliver, with her first husband, Greg Lange, who died of brain cancer in 2010.

Last year, the media personality fought back tears on her radio show as she shared the results of a recent emotional journey – a gruelling half-marathon along a section of the Great Wall of China.

“It was one of the most incredible things I’ve ever done in my entire life. There was a point where I didn’t think I would be finishing it because it was so hard,” she told co-host Tommy Little, before revealing that she had completed the course.

Bickmore was competing in the marathon to raise money for a cause close to her heart: Carrie’s Beanies 4 Brain Cancer charity.

“I want to stop those families that get torn apart by brain cancer, it’s been a mission of mine for a long time,” she explained.
