Bonnie Anderson to perform at Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight 2023

Bonnie Anderson is excited to be back on the line-up for “the best gig of the year” – alongside Australian music royalty – after having to sit out last year’s event.

Powerhouse singer Bonnie Anderson is ready to sleigh at Carols By Candlelight.

“It’s the best gig of the year,” the popular vocalist and former Neighbours star said.

“Everyone is smiling, everyone is joyful. It’s such a happy time.”

Anderson, performing at her eighth Carols, had to sit out last year’s event after giving birth to Bobby, her son with landscaper Sam Morrison.

“He was born four days before Christmas, and I still wanted to do Carols,” she said, laughing. “Everybody thought I was crazy.”

Carols 2024, presented by Vision Australia, will feature festive season favourites including Casey Donovan, Marina Prior and Emma Memma.

Paul Kelly will also make his Carols debut, performing classic Christmas track How to Make Gravy.

Fellow ARIA award-winning artist G Flip will also grace the event for the first time, alongside Nashville-based husband-wife duo Bowen * Young.

Denis Walter, Silvie Paladino, David Hobson, Simon Gleeson and Mitch Tambo will return to the line-up.

This week, Anderson visited designer Jason Grech to be fitted for the big night.

Anderson’s return to Carols follows her dream wedding to Morrison in the Yarra Valley last month.

“It was the best day, filled with love and laughter,” she said. “That’s how I like to live life, and it’s exactly how the wedding was. It was a ripper day, and Sam and I can’t wipe the smiles off our faces.”

Carols by Candlelight, at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Christmas Eve, is Vision Australia’s biggest annual fundraiser.

All profits from ticket sales will go towards supporting about 2000 families whose children are blind or have low vision.
