Anthony Callea snags surprising new TV gig on Celebrity Apprentice
Celebrated singer and TV veteran Anthony Callea has traded locked-down Melbourne for freer Sydney pastures and is set to star on another rebooted reality series after the pandemic wiped out a year worth of work.

Celebrated singer Anthony Callea has taken on an apprentice role – that of a “Celebrity Apprentice.”
The reality TV veteran, he has survived Australian Idol and I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!, has escaped the Melbourne lockdown and according to production sources is among the cast trying to impress UK businessman Lord Alan Sugar on the Channel 9 series Celebrity Apprentice.
The show is currently filming in the Harbour City and Callea has been teasing his secret Sydney project on Instagram with a sunny shirtless picture in the Sydney Botanic Gardens and a few laps in the Andrew Charlton pool at Woolloomooloo.
Callea’s castmates are understood to include Survivor All-Stars winner David Genat, Ninja Warrior Australia fan favourite Olivia Vivian along with The Biggest Loser’s Michelle Bridges and radio host Michael “Wippa” Wipfli.
Callea has been open in recent months about the havoc COVID-19 has caused his career. The performer had a year’s worth of bookings wiped out in a matter of hours after the COVID-19 lockdown first came into play in March.
The opportunity to show his versatility and determination on a show such as Celebrity Apprentice must have been a welcome challenge for Callea who has spent the past seven months in lockdown in Melbourne with his husband, Tim Campbell.
