Eating out for the first time in months? Prepare yourself for a few changes

Victorians are preparing to hit hiking trails and public gardens during their first weekend since coronavirus restrictions were eased.

Outdoor attractions including the 1000 Steps trail in the Dandenong Ranges, the Royal Botanic Gardens and St Kilda Beach are now open for cooped up Victorians.

Parks Victoria has also warned that those who opt to venture out this weekend must still adhere to 1.5m social distancing rules.

While Wilsons Promontory, the Grampians and Great Otway National Parks are now open to day trippers, the Twelve Apostles, Werribee Park and Point Nepean Tunnels remain closed.

Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria director Tim Entwisle said the Melbourne and Cranbourne gardens had already had a steady trickle of visitors with more expected over the weekend.
