Home And Away star Sam Frost has not had Covid vaccinations

Sam Frost has spoken out about why she has not received the Covid vaccine. While she made a plea for employers to be more forgiving of their unvaccinated staff, others have hit back at the star.

Sam Frost on managing your mental health

An emotional Home And Away star Sam Frost has revealed she is unvaccinated against Covid-19 and is calling for employers to be more sympathetic towards people who have made the same decision she has.

The former Bachelorette took to Instagram on Saturday to state her vaccination status and how her choice has taken a toll on her mental health.

“I was really hesitant about even doing a video or speaking out about this sort of thing but I feel like it is getting to a point now in the world where there is a lot of segregation, there is a lot of harsh judgment and opinions being thrown around and it’s taking a toll on my mental health for sure,” Frost said in the emotional video posted to her Instagram account.

“I know people around me are struggling, particularly if they are on the side that they don’t want to get vaccinated for whatever reason.

“There are lots of different reasons why people are not getting vaccinated.

“I am not vaccinated and there is a reason why I am not. There are a few reasons why I am not. I have spoken to my doctors and my psychiatrist about it. That’s my decision.”

Frost, who plays Jasmine Delaney on the Australian soap, said she has felt isolated since making the decision to not vaccinate against the deadly virus.

“It is a really hard time to be in society now and you feel like you are less of a human and you feel like people judge you and you are too scared to talk about your opinion or talk about your feelings,” she said.

“There are good reasons why I am not but I don’t want you to judge me.

“It is going to be a really hard time when the vaccinated are allowed out to do things … and because I have made a choice. I think it is really important during that time for people like myself to look after their mental health.”

She made a plea for employers to be kinder and more forgiving of their unvaccinated staff.

“I guess for me I was thinking about what I would want someone to say and what I wish leadership would look like in this country,” she said.

“And what I wish employees would say to their employees I wish they would say, “you still matter and you are valued and you are not less intelligent or worthy or anything because you have made a choice about your body.

“I wish there were more people that made us feel like we were less alone.

“I don’t know if I will get into trouble for saying I am not vaccinated, which is insane, but if I do I hope at least this has helped someone who is in the same position as me who feels really lonely right now.”

A Seven spokeswoman said Frost shared what she wanted to say in her post and they confirmed “Sam continues to film with Home And Away”.

Singer Em Rusciano also replied to Frost’s post.

Fellow Bachelor alumni Matt Agnew responded to Frosts’s comments, describing them as “a lengthy monologue” and “a dog whistle”.

“I don’t want to add to the pile on,” the astrophycist posted. “What I do want to do is just discuss and challenge a few of the points that were put forward.

“There are NOT a lot of different reasons why someone shouldn’t be getting vaccination. There is one reason: medical.”

Dr Agnew also took issue with Frost’s plea for compassion and and empathy “while displaying none of those characteristics by choosing to put the lives of those who *can not* get vaccinated at risk. Anti-vaxxers often skip this step. You are affecting others.”

“With social media presence, there comes a social and moral obligation,” he wrote.

“Misinformation is a hugely problematic issue, and the unregulated profileration of information through epople with large social media followings is a large contributor to that.”

Singer Em Rusciano also hit back at Frost’s post about choosing to not vaccinate.

Rusciano took to Twitter on Saturday to brand the Home And Away actress a “privileged white woman”.

“Sam Frost is a privileged white woman who has worked through the pandemic. Watching her tearfully speak about ‘segregation’ because she chooses not to get vaccinated and being called ‘brave’ by her followers is taking me to a level of ‘what the f*#k’ I didn’t know was possible.”
