There is now a third reason to wonder why on earth the Liberals let professional lobbyist Michael Photios dominate the pre-selection of Liberal candidates in NSW. Now his wife has noisily quit the party, claiming it isn't doing enough to "stop" global warming.
So let's now count the reasons for giving Photios the boot.
- He's a lobbyist, for heaven's sake. Can't Liberals see how grossly improper and even dangerous it is in principle to allow lobbyists for big corporate interests to influence the preselections of MPs, including the ministers they may be lobbying one day?
- Look at Photios' record of promoting yes-men and Labor-lites, rather than people of talent, esepcially conservatives
- Isn't it embarrassing for a Liberal power-broker to have his family use his name specifically to damage the party?
