NO MORE SYMPATHY, PLEASE

To all those who called me with sympathy for being attacked on Tuesday by masked protesters: stop it. Sympathy is for losers. And we must be losers no more. UPDATE: The photographer who was with the attackers claims he wasn't part of the ambush. I have trouble believing him, given how little  my attendance was publicised.  Watch his film here.

So I want your high-fives instead. I want you to laugh at the CCTV footage of the haymaker I gave one of the three men who jumped me and blinded me with a thick liquid outside a Carlton book launch I was to speak at.

Their sort has ruled the streets for too long, particularly in Melbourne.

This Tuesday I witnessed an altercation between Andrew Bolt and a couple of protesters outside a restaurant in Carlton.Last year a book launch by Bolt was cancelled due to a planned protest so when I heard he was speaking at another one, I thought something might happen. Other photographers I know had said the same thing and were on their way. I had been waiting for around 20 minutes when I saw Andrew Bolt approaching and some people that could possibly be protesters nearby. I started filming and this is what I caught before I left fearing something might happen to my camera in the chaos.Media reports have mistaken my presence at the scene as somehow connected to the protesters. This is not true. I am just a photographer and attend any political event or photograph any opportunity I can find, as i have done so for the last 2 years. I have no allegiance or affiliation with any political groups.

How come he was so well placed?

Why did he run away when the attackers did?

Why didn't he offer help or tell me he had the vision?

UPDATE

The coward has now deleted the video. But you can watch it here.
