HOW ABC COACHED MINISTER INTO WARMIST LIE

A biased ABC pushes a timid Coalition Minister into babbling a warmist untruth: "FRAN KELLY: A  lot of farmers do think ...climate change means the days are hotter, droughts are meaner.. Do you accept that? LITTLEPROUD: Totally...  KELLY:  The Treasurer...  conceded the drought is linked to climate change... LITTLEPROUD: So do I." Let's now check.

Here's a  perfect example of the biased ABC pushing a timid Coalition Minister into babbling a warmist falsehood.  It says so  much about the ABC's malign influence on public debate, and the weakness of the Coalition into pushing back.

The "re-education" of Water Minister David Littleproud started a month ago after the Nationals MP said this:

I don’t know if climate change is man made.

Shock! Horror!

Such heresy against the warmist faith could not be left unrepented.

Littleproud was brought in for questioning on ABC Radio National:

When asked whether human-induced climate change was making bushfires more intense, Littleproud replied: “We’re adapting to it as the climate continues to change and we’ll continue to equip our service workers … Whether it’s manmade or not is irrelevant.”

I assume the Morrison Government then forced him to repeat the meaningless catechism of the faith:

Littleproud launched a complete about-face in parliament on Thursday, saying: “I accept the science on manmade impact on climate change. Always have.”

“I accept the science. I’m just a poor humble bloke with a year 12 education but I’m prepared to accept, prepared to accept what our scientists are telling us – it’s as simple as that.”

(Hang on that last bit:  "I’m prepared to accept, prepared to accept what our scientists are telling us.")

But even that incantation was not enough for the one of the ABC's most passionate global warming believers, Fran Kelly.

And so yesterday we got this ludicrous and humiliating exchange:

FRAN KELLY:  You keep saying the drought will break, it will rain - and it will - but a lot of farmers do think this is different now - that climate change means the days are hotter, droughts are meaner, rains are scarcer are and they're coming at different times. Do you accept that?

DAVID LITTLEPROUD: Totally. And in fact, primary production has been adapting to a change in climate since we first put a till in the soil ...

FRAN KELLY:  I just want to test something with you there. Because even then when I asked you about the changing climate, you said "Ever since we first tilled the soil". The Treasurer, who was with you this week, conceded the drought is linked to climate change...?

DAVID LITTLEPROUD: So do I.

More fool both those ministers. Fancy falling in with  an ABC alarmist with a record of making  or promoting false and alarmist claims about global warming.

Because the claim that both those ministers now agree to - that "the drought is linked to climate change" - is exactly NOT what "our scientists are telling us".

It is only what the ABC is telling the ministers to say, and they foolishly obey.

Professor Andy Pitman is no sceptic. He is part of the global warming industry in our universities, and heads the  ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes.   This is what he says (at 1:10:00):

As far as the climate scientists know there is no link between climate change and drought... There is no reason a priori why climate change should made the landscape more arid...

If you look at the Bureau of Meteorology data over the whole of the last one hundred years there’s no trend in data. There is no drying trend.  There’s been a trend in the last twenty years, but there’s been no trend in the last hundred years, and that’s an expression on how variable Australian rainfall climate is.

There are in some regions but not in other regions.

So the fundamental problem we have is that we don’t understand what causes droughts.

Much more interesting, We don’t know what stops a drought. We know it’s rain, but we don’t know what lines up to create drought breaking rains.”

So David Littleproud has been badgered into going from making an honest statement ("I don't know") into a plainly false one (he "totally" accepts global warming causes drought).

And the Treasurer joins him in this farcical retreat from science to superstition:

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has declared man-made climate change is contributing to the worst drought in living memory across some parts of Australia...

"The links between what we're seeing today and climate change are there."

Reason is dead. A new and irrational faith is rampant. And this Government does not dare say a word against it.

Worse, it's on its knees, pretending to pray.
