Simon, the estranged husband of mushroom cook Erin Patterson, has told the jury about the moment he turned down an invite to the lunch which ended up killing three members of his family. Here’s your recap of the day’s evidence.
The trial of Erin Patterson continues at the Supreme Court in Morwell.
Ms Patterson is charged with murdering her former in-laws Don and Gail Patterson, as well as Gail’s sister Heather Wilkinson following a deadly mushroom meal at her Leongatha home on July 29, 2023.
She is also accused of attempting to kill Heather’s husband Ian Wilkinson, who survived the meal.
Ms Patterson has pleaded not guilty to all charges, claiming what happened was a “tragedy and a terrible accident”.
