Harrison Geppert’s accused murderer Jarvis Farrier has hearing delayed again due to COVID-19

A committal hearing relating to the stabbing death of the younger brother of notorious ex-bikie Ben Geppert has been delayed even further due to coronavirus measures.

Harrison Geppert died in a Varsity Lakes park in September last year.

A COMMITTAL hearing relating to the stabbing death of the younger brother of notorious ex-bikie Ben Geppert has been delayed even further due to coronavirus measures.

Jarvis Farrier, 19, was to face committal hearing on Thursday. He is accused of stabbing Harrison Geppert, 17, in the back during a confrontation in a Varsity Lakes Park in September last year.

The matter was delayed because Farrier is unable to be brought to court from custody due to a lockdown in the correctional centres to stop the spread of a coronavirus cluster.

Tentative plans had been made to hold the committal hearing via video link next month.

But that is not possible because due to high demand for video links, an hour and a half time limit has been placed on video link calls between courts and the prisons.

Magistrate Gary Finger on Thursday adjourned the matter to September 12. Lawyers are expected to then know if the hearing will be able to take place over two days to accommodate shorter video links.

Harrison Geppert’s older brother Ben Geppert, a former Hells Angels bikie, has come to prominence due to his prolific posting on Instagram.

At the time of his little brother’s death he posted a tribute.

“Rest in paradise Harry Geppert I love you my little brother! I love you more than anything regardless of the things that have gone on in our family your still my blood! (sic).”

Harrison Geppert’s death was unrelated to his older brother’s former bikie links.
