Gold Coast Police track down two cars allegedly stolen, third vehicle manages to escape at Main Beach
Police have cornered alleged car thieves driving stolen vehicles in a dramatic operation on the Gold Coast today, but one vehicle managed to slip the net.

GOLD Coast police and the POLAIR helicopter service have cornered alleged car thieves in two separate incidents in the city today.
Officers are also on the hunt for a third vehicle alleged to have been stolen after its driver managed to slip the net and evade arrest.
About 12.30pm, police began tracking a white Hyundai Excel which was heading to Australia Fair at Southport, a police spokesman said.

Police blocked exits and boxed the car in before arresting a male and female of an undisclosed age. The pair had not been charged as of 3.15pm.
About 12.55pm, POLAIR detected a blue Ford Focus at Carrara, alleged to be stolen, and began tracking the vehicle.
The car made its way to First Ave at Broadbeach, where police moved in on the occupants.
Two people, a male and female of an undisclosed age, were arrested. No charges had been laid at time of publication.

About 1.45pm, a late-70s model sedan alleged to have been stolen was spotted at traffic lights on the Gold Coast Highway.
The vehicle allegedly sped towards Main Beach and managed to flee police.
Police patrolled the area but did not find the sedan. It’s not known what colour the car is.
There’s no indication the alleged car thefts are linked and police investigations continue.
