A Gold Coast woman accused of helping a 14-year-old carjack a supermarket worker has been granted bail after a court heard terrifying details of what is alleged to have happened.

A Gold Coast woman accused of helping a 14-year-old carjack a supermarket worker has been granted bail.

Chloe-Lee Christine Beattie appeared in Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and enter premises with intent.

The 21-year-old is alleged to have gone with a teenager to the Nerang Fair Shopping Centre about 6am and asked a Coles worker to borrow her phone.

The supermarket worker did and when she turned to enter work the teen allegedly pulled a knife.

It is alleged the teen told her: “Give me your car keys. I have a knife. I’ll f***ing kill you, give me your keys.”

The court was told that after a short struggle the woman handed over the keys and the pair drove off down Beaudesert Nerang Rd with Beattie in the passenger seat.

It is alleged the pair were then spotted in a ute parked in Bundall, rummaging through items.

When confronted they allegedly ran off, dropping items, including a necklace suspected of being stolen.

The pair then allegedly got back into the car stolen from Nerang and drove off.

The car was found crashed a short distance away.

Beattie suffers from mental health conditions, the court was told.

Magistrate Kerry Magee granted her bail with a number of conditions including that she seek mental health assistance as directed.

The matter will return to court in the coming weeks.
