A MAN accused of crashing into a tram and then threatening a woman with a gel blaster will remain in custody after declining to apply for bail.
Albert Hope did not appear when his matter was mentioned in the Southport Magistrates Court this morning.
Hope, 22, is facing nine charges including going armed to cause fear, assault occasioning bodily harm, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and unlicensed driving.
It is alleged the Currumbin Waters man crashed a white BMW into a tram at Broadbeach just before 2pm on Thursday.
Police allege Hope then threatened a woman with a gel blaster gun and demanded she drive.
Hope was only stopped when four people, including actor Joel Pierce, chased him down and tackled him, it is alleged.
The men detained Hope until police arrived.
It is alleged Hope punched one of the men during the struggle.

Hope elected not to apply for bail when the matter was heard in court.
Magistrate Mark Howden adjourned the matter to June 18 and scheduled Hope to appear via video link.
