A Gold Coast woman will face court in September after she allegedly stole items from a Supercheap Auto store, with the incident captured in a bizarre viral video.
Toni Maree Kussrow, 43, was charged with two counts of stealing and one count of fraud – dishonestly make off without paying.
In Southport Magistrates Court on Monday, Kussrow was self-represented and had her matter adjourned to late September.
Police alleged the woman entered the Southport Nerang Rd store about 3.30pm on April 24 and concealed two disc-rotors in the pram, under a blanket. It is alleged she then left the store, making no attempt to pay for the items.
The incident was the subject of a bizarre viral video, where Kussrow was seen holding a pram of alleged stolen items covered with a blanket while being confronted by a staff member outside the Ashmore Supercheap Auto store. When the worker tried to take control of the pram, the woman yelled: “Let my baby go”.
