Gold Coast: Man suffers serious leg injuries in crash on Hollywell Rd at Biggera Waters

A MAN has been seriously injured after two cars were reportedly involved in a collision at Biggera Waters, with a pedestrian hit by one of the cars.
Emergency services rushed to Hollywell Rd about 9am to reports of a pedestrian and vehicle incident.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the incident was reported as a two-car crash, with one of the cars involved hitting a pedestrian.
A man in his 30s with significant leg injuries was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
Critical care paramedics and the high acuity response unit travelled with him to hospital.
Paramedics also assessed an elderly woman at the scene, but she declined transport.
Two injured after car smashes into tree
August 22: Two men are being treated by paramedics after a car smashed into a tree on the Gold Coast.
Emergency Services were called to the incident on Tamborine Oxenford Rd at Upper Coomera about 8.15am after reports the vehicle had hit the tree.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a man in his 20s and a man in his 40s, who had suspected spinal injuries, were being assessed by paramedics but appeared to be in a stable condition.
Gold Coast man dies in Mudgeeraba crash
August 17: The Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit has launched investigations after a car left the road and wrapped around a tree on the Gold Coast, resulting in the death of a Mudgeeraba man.
Emergency services including police and Queensland Ambulance paramedics were called to the single-vehicle crash on Robina Parkway at Robina shortly after 8.15pm on Monday.
The 69-year-old Coast man driving the car died at the scene.
On Monday night, it was reported the man suffered a medical condition in the lead up to the fatal crash, causing his car to hit a guard rail before slamming into the tree.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations were ongoing early on Tuesday morning.
Police closed the southbound lanes of Robina Parkway between Cheltenham Dr and Scottsdale Dr after the crash, and warned drivers to avoid the area due to lengthy delays.

Man rescued from Coast rollover
August 14: A man has escaped serious injuries after a collision in Robina overnight caused his car to roll.
The two-vehicle crash was between Scottsdale Drive and Christine Ave around 6.30pm.
A Queensland Fire Emergency services person said they had to cut the roof of the car to free the man.
Queensland Emergency service crews took him to Gold Coast University Hospital with minor injuries.
Earlier: Rider badly injured after crashing into tree days after M1 motorbike fatal
August 14: A motorbike rider has been taken to hospital by critical care paramedics with serious injuries after he crashed into a tree on the Gold Coast.
The crash comes just two days after a Tweed man, 25, died after a horrific water truck and motorcycle crash on the Pacific Motorway (M1) at Tugun.
Queensland Ambulance paramedics, including Critical Care and the High Acuity Response Unit, were called to Kingsmore Boulevard and Tuckeroo Place, Reedy Creek about 10.20am on Friday, a spokeswoman said.
A man aged in his 20s ran into a tree on his motorbike and suffered upper and lower limb injuries.

M1 traffic: Woman taken to hospital after two-vehicle crash
August 12: MOTORISTS travelling north on the M1 have been warned to expect delays after two vehicles collided at Upper Coomera.
Paramedics came across the incident on the Pacific Motoway about 4.30pm on Thursday.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said one patient, a woman in her 20s, was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital using spinal precautions. No other injuries were reported.
Delays of less than ten minutes are being reported for the area.
Rider in serious condition after moped collides with car
August 12: A man has been taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition after he was thrown from a scooter during a traffic crash at Currumbin.
The rider sustained serious injuries to his chest and pelvis when he and another vehicle collided at the corner of Thrower Dr and Duringan St on Thursday afternoon.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the man was accompanied by officers from the High Acuity Response Unit to hospital. He is in a serious condition.
Man thrown from scooter in two-vehicle crash
August 12: Emergency crews are currently responding to a two-vehicle collision at Currumbin in which a man was reportedly thrown from his scooter.
Paramedics, including critical care and officers from the High Acuity Response Unit, were called to the scene at the corner of Thrower Dr and Duringan St just before 3pm Thursday.
A Queensland Ambulance said it appeared the male ride sustained suspected pelvis injuries.
It is understood the driver of the vehicle is uninjured.
Police are in attendance, though no road closures are in place at the time.

CCTV footage shows sinister moment car set alight
August 10: Chilling CCTV footage has captured the moment a luxury vehicle goes up in flames during an alleged arson attack at Southport last month.
It was about 4am on July 31 when police allege a hooded suspect purposely set light to the Mercedes-Benz C180 while it was parked outside a Stevens St home.
Police released the vision taken from a neighbouring property on Tuesday, showing the moment a hooded figure approaches the vehicle before appearing to douse it in fluid and setting it alight as its owners and nearby residents slept.
The vehicle was completely destroyed in the incident. There have been no arrests over the matter as yet.
