Police are searching for a man allegedly driving a Nissan Patrol with false plates that read “LATERZ” in relation to a series of reported fuel thefts in a Gold Coast suburb.

Police are seeking a man they believe may be able to assist with their investigation into petrol thefts at several locations this year.
The latest reported incident was at about 2.40pm on May 31, when police allege the suspect used false plates displaying ‘LATERZ’ on a Nissan Patrol.
He allegedly left a Nerang petrol station without attempting to pay for fuel.
Seven similar incidents have now been reported so far this year, all in the Nerang area.

The man allegedly left a Broadbeach store without paying for the luxury accessory at about 1.10pm on June 15.

A man and woman are of interest to police in relation to the alleged theft of more than $700 worth of groceries from a Gold Coast supermarket.
Police say the pair left the Pacific Pines store without paying for the whopping haul at about 5pm on June 6.
