Police are on the hunt to find who stole five cars from outside a Gold Coast aged care and nursing home.

Gold Coast police were made aware five St Vincent’s aged care and nursing home cars were stolen from the Southport residence on Friday afternoon.

Aged care worker Kyla Mortensen said they were “very sad” to hear about the thefts.

“All staff are very shocked and we are now having to use our own cars to transport the elderly,” they said.

All five cars were white 2017 Ford Focus hatchbacks branded with blue charity signage.

Gold Coast police investigators said they believe the cars were driven towards Owens Lane and Queen Street in Southport just after 1am.

Police found three of the cars within that area.

Two of the cars remain missing.

Police are calling fro anyone with information or if someone wanted to make an anonymous reports to call PoliceLink at 131 444.
