Man, 50s, hospitalised with serious stab wound to neck after Surfers Paradise alleged assault

A man has allegedly been stabbed in the neck overnight at a Surfers Paradise apartment tower.

Police and paramedics were called to Spectrum Holiday Apartments on River Drive about 1am on Tuesday where a man in his 50s had a stab wound to his neck, a Queensland Ambulance spokesman said.

He was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

The QAS spokesman said a woman in her 50s also suffered head and neck injuries and was hospitalised in a stable condition.

Detectives attended the address overnight and have established a crime scene.

Forensics remained at the apartment tower about 7am on Tuesday collecting evidence and processing the scene.
