A Subway manager has slammed masked offenders who smashed their way inside a Gold Coast store early Friday morning before fleeing with an empty till.

The business on Christensen Road, Yatala was targeted about 2am on Friday.

The shop manager said an angle grinder was used to cut a padlock and gain entry to the car park.

The thieves then used pry bars to lift the metal security screens and smash through the glass windows.

Once inside, the offenders were only there for about 60 seconds rummaging through cupboards.

An empty till drawer was taken, before the intruders fled in a white SVU, last seen on the M1 southbound.

Dramatic footage recorded during the incident shows three masked suspects fleeing the scene.

In a statement made to the Today Show, Subway area manager Mark Noe spoke of the disruption caused by the thieves to his employees and business.

“I’ve got staff today who are not going to have a shift - lord knows how long it will take us to actually get this back to a state where we can open and trade,” said Mr Noe.

“You guys that do this are honestly brain dead - get a job, get a life.”
