The director of a Gold Coast motorhome company that went into liquidation with more than $1.7m unaccounted for has been slapped with fraud charges.

Infinity Motorhomes’ Bradley James Boakes, 42, faces seven charges of fraud (dishonestly causing detriment). Three are for amounts between $30,000 and $100,000, and another two in excess of $100,000.

It is alleged Mr Boakes defrauded a total of $691,283 from six people between November, 2017 and June this year.

Court documents allege his victims were left between $13,000 and $221,195 out of pocket.

Several of the alleged offences were placed at an address on Ford Rd, Coomera, where it was previously reported Infinity was operating from a leased factory.

Mr Boakes is also charged with defrauding a further $9680 from Slacks Creek business Big Wei Battery.

The Townsville-born man, now living at Helensvale, was charged last month and his case mentioned in Southport Magistrates Court for the first time this week.

His matter was adjourned to July 16 for case conferencing and he remains on bail.

Infinity went into liquidation last year after a Supreme Court wind-up action, following claims from multiple customers that they had not received all of the cash from vehicles sold on their behalf.

The legal action was sparked by retiree Trevor Godfredson, who claimed he was owed more than $100,000 almost a year after his beloved motorhome was sold on by Infinity.

Mr Boakes said at the time that he planned to “appeal” the case.

It was reported in following months that more than $1.7m was unaccounted for in the liquidation and that unsecured creditors were owed more than $500,000, including $142,000 in tax.

A report from liquidator Andre Lakomy of Cor Cordis said Infinity had likely been insolvent since it began and that Mr Boakes could be liable for more than $500,000 in insolvent trading claims.

Infinity had also traded as Gold Coast RV Repairs and B & P Compass Campers.
