It is alleged the group of men went to the Iron Asylum Gym in Helensvale about 2.30pm on February 28 and ambushed Dale Moore.

The court has previously been told it is not clear if Mr Moore is a present or former member of the Rebels motorcycle gang.

It is alleged the men repeatedly punched and kicked Mr Moore before he fled in a nearby car.

Mr Moore has provided a statutory declaration claiming he consented to the alleged ambush.

On Tuesday, police prosecutor Senior Sergeant Paige Barrow asked the court for all six men to face a committal hearing.

The court was told all six men are expected to make a submission claiming they did not have a case to answer.

Magistrate Dzenita Balic scheduled the hearing for December 7.

The six men’s co-accused gym owner Donya Anna Assi and another man, Samuel Joseph Richard Pearce, also had their matter mentioned on Tuesday.

The pair are charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.

The court was told their matter had to be dealt with separately as they were not accused of being members of a bikie gang.

It is alleged Assi contacted the gang about a debt and was told they would “sort out” Mr Moore.

Magistrate Balic adjourned their matter to September 13.
