ALLEGED Mongols gang member Harley Barbaro’s forgetfulness has landed him with a $300 fine after he was caught on his white Harley Davidson without a licence.

Barbaro had not renewed his licence after serving a disqualification period when, at about 2.40pm on September 14 this year, he was stopped by police on Nerang-Broadbeach Rd, Nerang.

The 29-year-old had been disqualified from driving between April and July this year.

Barbaro told police he had forgotten to renew his licence after the disqualification period.

He pleaded guilty in the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday morning to driving without a licence.

Magistrate Louisa Pink fined him $300.

“You don’t have a great traffic history but it isn’t marred by repeated disqualified driving,” she said.

The court was told Barbaro’s traffic history ran for four pages.

Prior to Barbaro’s lawyer Campbell MacCallum, of Moloney MacCallum Lawyers, giving his submissions, Magistrate Pink indicated she would be giving a small fine.

Mr MacCallum replied: “I certainly don’t wish to talk you out of that.”

He gave no further submissions.

Barbaro comes from a notorious crime family and is the brother of underworld figure Pasquale Barbaro, who was shot execution-style in Sydney in 2016.
