Gold Coast police stated a man suffered a wound to his shoulder “with a pair of scissors” in a unit on Ben Lamond Drive at Highland Park about 6.40pm on Wednesday.

He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital “for treatment to a non-life threatening injury”.

Police have charged a Highland Park woman, 41, known to the man with one count of wounding domestic violence offence.

She was expected to face Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Man charged with wounding over sports field melee

February 9: Police have charged a man after an argument allegedly developed into a brutal confrontation at an Oxenford sports field.

The incident occurred at the field on Leo Graham Way at Oxenford about 8pm on Tuesday, Queensland Police stated.

“Police will allege at about 8pm a 42-year-old man and a 60-year-old man, who are known to each other, were having a conversation that developed into a physical altercation during which the 42-year-old sustained several cuts to his arms and neck,” the statement read.

“The 60-year-old man allegedly fled in a vehicle and was apprehended a short time later in Upper Coomera.

“The 42-year-old was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”

The 42-year-old man was transported in a stable condition, according to Queensland Ambulance Service.

The older man has been charged with unlawful wounding.

He was expected to face Southport Magistrates Court on March 2.

Police investigators have urged anyone with information, or dashcam footage, to get in touch.

Man seriously injured, mystery surrounds suspected attack

February 7: A man has been taken to a Gold Coast hospital suffering from serious head and arm injuries after he was seemingly attacked at a Mermaid Waters home early Monday morning.

Gold Coast police have been working to determine what exactly occurred at the Cottesloe Dr address and “have yet to speak with the man”, a Queensland Police spokesman said.

Queensland Ambulance paramedics were called to the “private address” at Mermaid Waters about 5.50am.

They treated the man aged in his 40s for “head and arm injuries following an alleged wounding”.

He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

“Investigations continue after man was located with injuries at a Mermaid Waters possibly as a result of an alleged assault,” the police spokesman said.

February 4: Detectives have arrested a Gold Coast woman on multiple charges including possessing a dangerous drug that is “extremely easy to overdose on”.

The Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad executed a series of search warrants in Southport and Broadbeach targeting the importation of a drug known as bute.

Bute is 1,4 Butanediol, a drug that can be converted to gamma hydroxybutyrate known as GHB or Liquid Fantasy.

During the searches on Tuesday and Wednesday, police seized a large amount of cash, a quantity of bute, drug utensils and mobile phones.

A 53-year-old Southport woman was charged with multiple charges including possessing dangerous drugs, supplying relevant substances and possessing relevant substances.

She is due to appear in Southport Magistrate Court on February 16.

Major and Organised Crime Squad Detective Senior Sergeant Ian Galpin said bute can cause significant harm or even death if ingested.

“In partnership with the Australia Border Force, our investigations have resulted in approximately 50 litres of 1,4 Butanediol, intended for the Gold Coast, being seized,” he said.

“The targeted enforcement of individuals supplying and trafficking 1,4 Butanediol is a priority due to the significant harm it causes within the community.

“It is extremely easy to overdose on and its use may lead to death. The difference between survival and a fatal overdose can be very small.”

Teen charged for break in, pulling knife on woman

February 3: A teenage boy has been charged for allegedly breaking into a Palm Beach unit and pulling a knife of a woman.

The 16-year-old Woodridge boy allegedly broke into a Palm Beach residence around 1.30am.

It will be alleged by police a 32-year-old woman was woken by noise in her Tallebudgera Drive unit.

She saw a torch light in her kitchen and confronted the teenage boy searching the area.

The boy threatened the woman with a knife and a struggle ensured before the boy fled the unit, it’s alleged.

The woman was left with three small cuts to her fingers and hand.

Police located the teenage boy on Tallebudgera Drive a short time later.

He has been charged with one count of wounding, break and enter, stealing, possession of a knife in a public place and wilful damage.

He will appear in the Southport Children’s Court this afternoon.

Man charged with savage attack on two Coast cops

January 31: A man allegedly punched two Gold Coast police officers in the face and was tasered after he refused to move his van, which was blocking a footpath.

Police were patrolling The Esplanade at Burleigh Heads when they asked the Brisbane man, 31, to move his van as it was blocking the path about 4.30pm on Sunday.

“The man refused and became aggressive toward police, swearing at and verbally abusing two officers,” a statement read.

“Officers informed the man he would be placed under arrest, and it will be alleged he pulled his arm away from the officers and with a clenched fist struck both of them in the face, knocking one to the ground.”

Police stated the 31-year-old, thought to be a performing fire twirler, was tasered and arrested.

The two senior constables, men aged 44 and 45, sustained facial lacerations and bruising.

The Brisbane man was charged with two counts of serious assault police, one count of contravene a direction and one count of obstruct police.

He was granted police bail and is due to face Southport Magistrates Court on March 25.
