A teenager has been hospitalised with head injuries after she was brutally bashed, threatened with a gun and robbed in Surfers Paradise.
The sickening attack happened in the early hours of Tuesday morning at the bottom of Cavill Mall, inside a disabled toilet block.
A Queensland Police spokesman says the 18-year-old woman was inside the disabled rest room with three friends at about 1.40am when another woman entered.
The offender repeatedly bashed the victim over the head before pulling what appeared to be a pistol from her pants.
Police say the victim managed to escape from the toilet while being followed by her attacker who stole the injured woman’s mobile phone.
The 18-year-old was taken to Robina Hospital suffering facial injuries.
Detective from Surfers Paradise are investigating the incident.
The offender remains on the run.
