The 22-year-old’s lawyer Torik Dib told Southport Magistrates Court on Friday that his client intended to oppose the extradition and wanted to make an application for bail.

If successful, Mr Dib said Bargashoun would travel interstate of his own accord to deal with the matters.

The case was adjourned for the weekend and set down for an hour-long hearing on Monday where, represented by a duty lawyer, the court heard Bargashoun had changed his mind and would no longer fight the extradition.

It was also revealed that the NSW Police Force had pressed a further seven charges against Bargashoun including two counts of aggravated dangerous driving, negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, assaulting and intimidating a frontline emergency services worker, and low range drink driving.
