It is alleged she was found with three cards – a bank card, driver’s licence and Medicare card – that did not belong to her when police attended her Gold Coast home about 7.15am on Monday.

Taylor appeared in court via videolink from the Southport Watchhouse wearing a black, strapless top.

Defence lawyer Michael Gatenby, of Gatenby Criminal Lawyers, said it was “disgusting” the 51-year-old was remanded in custody for 24 hours on a minor charge.

He told the court that if found guilty Taylor would receive little more than a fine.

Mr Gatenby said it was “nothing short of a disgrace”.

“She should be released immediately and no conditions imposed on her and the prosecution should ask what the hell this woman is doing in court,” he said.

“It is disgusting.”

Magistrate Janine Crawford granted her bail on her own undertaking.

She said it “seems unnecessary” that Taylor was remanded in custody.

Magistrate Crawford noted that while Taylor had an extensive criminal history, a lot of charges had been dropped and there was a 14-year period between 2005 and May 2019 in which Taylor did not offend.

Taylor’s matter was adjourned to June 21.

Taylor emerged from the watchhouse wearing black and white active wear tights, bright red sneakers and had a black jumper tied around her waist.

Her long black hair was loose and pushed to one side as she walked from the door to the gate.

Dark circles were visible under her eyes.

She placed a hand on the bridge of her nose and turned from the cameras before she tried to cover her face with the small, sparkly purse and phone she carried in one hand.

When she struggled with the gate she asked: “How do you work this?”.

Taylor finally managed to open the gate.

Asked if she had anything to say, she replied: “No thanks”.

Taylor was then seen walking through Southport towards the Gold Coast Highway.

She made no attempt to put her jumper on despite the cold weather.
