Acting Detective Inspector Ian Galpin said police would continue with investigations into criminal gangs.

“Methylamphetamine causes a great deal of harm to our community, it destroys families and the lives of individuals. We continue to work with the community to target those involved in the supply of methylamphetamine and the closure of this operation is a great example of what can be achieved,” he said.

A total of seven people have been charged with 74 offences as a result of Operation Tango Quartz, which involved officers from the Drug and Serious Crime Group’s Major and Organised Crime Squad Brisbane and Gold Coast CIB.

Detective Acting Inspector Brad Phelps said the 17-month-long investigation was now closed: “The nature of this alleged offending is very concerning,” he said.

“Removing drugs and weapons such as these from the community is particularly important due to the harms they cause.”
