Callum Langford pleaded guilty in Southport Magistrates Court to masturbating with a dildo in the women's toilets at Circle on Cavill.

A serial public masturbator has been caught on camera in the middle of a shocking sex act in a women’s toilet in Surfers Paradise – and it did little to deter him.

An unsuspecting woman walked into the Circle on Cavill toilets near 11pm on August 27 to find a naked Callum Haddon Langford on his hands and knees, masturbating with a dildo attached to the wall behind him.

Southport Magistrates Court was told Langford continued the sex act even as the appalled woman started recording him on her phone.

Langford was reported to police and has been in custody since his arrest.

Police prosecutor Acting Sergeant Matthew Thompson said the 26-year-old was placed on probation just weeks earlier after he was twice caught masturbating in public areas of Surfers Paradise.

Sgt Thompson said Langford told police on one occasion that he hoped he would be caught out in the sex act, in the hopes whoever discovered him would want to participate.

Defence lawyer Danielle Egan said Langford was employed as a cleaner at two locations – one being Circle on Cavill – and thought the toilets would be private, as they were usually locked at that time.

Callum Langford has faced Southport Magistrates Court after he was caught masturbating with a dildo in the Circle on Cavill toilets.

Ms Egan said her client was “remorseful, embarrassed, and ashamed” for acting on what he described as his “urges”, which initial reports suggested could potentially be linked to abuse he suffered as a child.

Magistrate Dzenita Balic said that whatever Langford was battling was “chronic” and something he required further rehabilitation to stop.

Langford pleaded guilty to committing an indecent act in a public place.

He was placed on probation for 18 months and no conviction was recorded.
