A leading victims’ rights group has blasted online platform OnlyFans for allowing convicted Australian criminals to rake in a fortune by posting explicit adult content.

Drug pushers and a man who did jail time for a violent home invasion are among the Aussie content creators earning thousands per month from their paid subscribers on the raunchy site.

A former police officer convicted of supplying drugs posts explicit content with his ex-fiancee, while a model who pleaded guilty to drug trafficking has bragged about earning $16,000 per month with her sex videos.

Chair of Advocacy Australia Clare Collins said the posting of explicit content by convicted criminals could have harmful impacts on victims of crime.

“Only those who are victims of serious crimes can truly understand the horrendous impact this sort of exploitation of their suffering by perpetrators who show no remorse, can have on them,” Ms Collins said.

“What is most disturbing for victims is knowing there is a market there with subscribers willing to pay criminals for such abhorrent online content.”

Ms Collins said the rights of victims of serious crime must be respected and convicted criminals should be prohibited from posting offensive content for profit.

“Legislation needs to be introduced to regulate these platforms to ensure criminals and the platforms themselves cannot profit at the expense and suffering of victims of serious crimes,” she said.

Creators on OnlyFans, which is based in the UK, cannot upload or publish content that is deemed illegal, threatening or discriminatory.

A spokesman for OnlyFans has been contacted for comment.
