The Queensland Reds have sent Gold Coast prop Feao Fotuaika home from their South African tour a week early after aggravating a foot injury.
The 26-year-old Keebra Park product and older brother of Titans star Moeaki Fotuaika played five matches for the Reds last year before breaking his foot, which ruled him out for the remainder of the season.
Fotuaika missed both of the Reds pre-season trials but returned off the bench in round one.
He did not feature in Saturday night’s round two loss to the Lions in Johannesburg and team officials confirmed he will return to Queensland immediately.
Prop David Feao has joined the team in South Africa as injury cover ahead of their round three clash with the Jaguares in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
