Eight talented South Coast athletes from seven schools showcased remarkable sportsmanship and resilience at the 13-19 years Queensland State Tennis Titles in Brisbane earlier this month.
Rain disruptions were just the beginning as one athlete (Kuma Ito, PBC State High School) played through injury, inspiring his teammates with unwavering commitment

The girls’ regional side received the esteemed State Championship title while their male counterparts secured bronze, together earning South Coast the Overall State Champion status.
On top of their team success, five athletes – three girls and two boys - were selected into the Queensland teams.
Ito was additionally appointed as Queensland Captain, highlighting his leadership and court prowess.
Team managers Jesse Way and Michael Parker praised the outstanding performance from both teams, citing resilience, sportsmanship and strategic gameplay as the pillars to success.
Their ability to adapt under pressure left a lasting impression on spectators.
Kuma Ito sustained a cork in his back during a doubles match when he and Connor Denny collided chasing a drop shot.
